Hi everyone! I'm VT aka Veetie or Quin, and this is my Sims 2 story blog: the ongoing saga of life in Kulo Seeri, home of the Nuidya tribe. Before I get started posting about my sims' lives, here's a quick introduction to their world and what to expect:

1: This Is Not SimEarth. Kulo Seeri is part of a world called Juvash, which is a high-fantasy, largely tribalish setting with very little in the way of cities and technology. As a lifelong worldbuilder, I'm not trying to emulate our world at any point in history here - I enjoy creating new and different cultures, and although I really don't want to offend anyone who thinks the 21st century is awesome, there will be a lot of cultural aspects of Kulo Seeri that deliberately reflect a different set of values. It is not trying to make any sort of point about modern life, I just really like worldbuilding.

2: Magic Is Everywhere. Juvash is a world overseen by seventeen gods (loosely grouped into four pantheons), the fae, an assortment of local mini-pantheons of deified heroes and ancestors, other spirits of the departed, and various greater and lesser nature spirits. They regularly walk the lands and send omens to mortals. The Nuidya of Kulo Seeri revere all these spirits, and their ten greater ancestors in particular. Also, most magic flows from the spirit realm of Yala, and is an integral part of life on Juvash, though not to the extent that it functions almost like technology. The other "other world", the Void is home to voidbeasts, which sometimes manage to slip out and cause havoc. (No, they're not evil - more like spirit predators or tricksters.) Either way, expect a lot of supernatural occurrences and occasional appearances from the gods and ancestors themselves.

3: A Land Of Dragonkin. The Electria Dragons - the largest of the four pantheons, representing the eight elements - were once shattered into thousands of sparks during a battle with voidbeasts. Each of those sparks was incarnated on Juvash as a dragonkin. One of these dragonkin, now known as Sena Yuleng, is the ancestor of the Nuidya - nearly everyone living in Kulo Seeri today is descended from her. Like all original dragonkin, Sena has been reincarnated through the generations of her tribe, and as such is not a member of the pantheon of ancestor spirits. However, I do sometimes yell "Sena Yuleng!" myself when I stub my toe. :)

4: The Girls Club. Juvash is pretty much an exclusively matriarchal world. (This is because I suffer from PTSD due to really bad treatment by male peers and authority figures at school, and letting male sims have power over female sims in my game would trigger flashbacks.) All seventeen of the gods are female, though not all of the Nuidya greater ancestors are, and only the mother's lineage counts for the identity of her offspring. In Kulo Seeri, all women outrank all men, and though they're not cruel about it or anything, there will be in-game penalties for men causing trouble.

5: I Won't Do That. As I said, I will probably be posting about a lot of things that wouldn't happen in our modern world. However, there are a few areas where you can rest assured this blog will not go. I certainly won't be exploring themes of bigotry or oppression in Kulo Seeri - it was started as an escape from my school days, back in 2007, and it's still escapism to this day. There will also be no portrayals of anything remotely adult-y; I am a very very squeamish asexual and I want this blog to be a safe space for other squeamish asexuals.

And now the formalities are out of the way, I'll leave off here and go back to planning the next story update. :)
